We, at Rocking Horse Day Care Center, would like to welcome you to our STATE LICENSED facility. Our aim is to provide a quality child care program for your child within an educational atmosphere of love and understanding.

PRESCHOOL

Rocking Horse offers a preschool enrichment program that includes: eye-hand coordination, motor skills, oral language development, visual perception, group participation, but most of all, our aim is to "MAKE LEARNING FUN." Classes are held from 8:30 am to 11:30 am daily for children 2 years to 5 years of age.

REGISTRATION
 
All enrollment forms must be completed for any child to stay at Rocking Horse. It is the parent's responsibility to keep their child's records up to date with correct work and emergency numbers, names of people allowed to pick up your child, physician's name and number, and immunization records. All fees are due in advance.
 
HOLIDAYS
 
The following holiday will be observed:
New Year's Day, Good Friday, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Day, and Memorial Day. We will be glad to celebrate your child's birthday.

Hours
 
Rocking Horse opens at 6:00 am and closes at 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday. There is a late charge of $1.00 per minute for each child left after 6:30 pm. All late charges must be paid at the time the child is picked up.
 
Children arriving at Rocking Horse must be signed in and left with a staff member. Children leaving the center must be signed out and released to their parent or an authorized person only.

NAP TIME

Children up to six years of age are required to have a nap time. Nap time is from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Please do not bring your child in at this time so as not to disturb the other children.
 
MEALS
 
Breakfast, a hot freshly prepared lunch, and an afternoon snack is provided. Menus are posted daily. Parents of infants on formula or baby food need to provide their child's food.
 
CLOTHING
 
All clothing brought to the center should be labeled with your child's name. Rubber soled shoes are preferred to boots or sandals. Flip flops are not permitted. Each child has a locker for their personal use.
 
Parents of infants and toddlers need to furnish disposable diapers and wipes.
 
PARENT CONFERENCES
 
Conferences with either the Director or staff member may be arranged at any time with the Director .
 
HEALTH
 
All health forms are to be completed within the first week of enrollment. This is required by the Texas Department of Human Resources.
 
A child who is ill will not be admitted to the center. Any child who becomes ill while at the center will be kept as comfortable as possible until the child's parent is able to pick him or her up.
 
Children who have had  a contagious disease will be readmitted only with a doctor's approval.
 
In the event of an injury, the parent(s) will be notified at once. If in an emergency the physician indicated cannot be reached, a physician will be contacted by the center.
 
Special problems or occurrences affecting the children will be brought to the attention of the parent(s).
 
Medications and special medical procedures will be administered to your child at the center on the written authorization of a physician or parent. Please send all medicines clearly labeled with your child's name and with the written instructions for administering.
 
TRANSPORTATION
 
Rocking Horse provides transportation to San Jacinto, Porter, Crippen, Bens Branch Elementary School and White Oak Middle School. In order for your child to participate in activities involving transportation, signed permission is needed. Rocking Horse T-shirts are required for field trips and can be ordered at the front desk.
